MiIncome provides financial support if you unexpectedly lose your job through no fault of your own. If you meet all policy terms and conditions, the benefit payment can help cover rent and essential living expenses for a limited period while you search for new employment.

To qualify for a claim, you must:

  • Have lost your job through no fault of your own.
  • Have completed the 90-day waiting period.
  • Lost your job after your 90-day waiting period.
  • Have been unemployed for at least 30 days.
  • Meet all policy terms and conditions.

You do not qualify if you:

  • Were unemployed before your enrolment date or during the 90-day waiting period.
  • Lost your job during the 90-day waiting period.
  • Left your job through voluntary resignation, quitting, or retirement.

Required Documents

You will need to provide:

You can submit a claim if all of the following points are true:

  • You have lost your job through no fault of your own.
  • You lost your job after your 90-day waiting period, not before or during.
  • You have completed the 90-day waiting period.
  • You have been unemployed for at least 30 days.

  • You cannot claim for any loss of employment that happened before you enrolled or during the 90-day waiting period.
  • This policy only covers involuntary job loss (redundancy through no fault of your own).
  • Voluntary resignation, quitting, or retirement are not covered.

  • Payments are made only if you meet all policy terms and conditions.
  • If your claim is approved, payments can be made directly to you or your landlord.
  • Coverage is limited to the amount stated on your Certificate of Insurance.
  • To receive the full benefit (up to three monthly payments), you must continue to provide proof of unemployment and meet all policy conditions.

You must submit a claim for a settlement to be paid.

The following points must be true for your claim to be considered:

  • You have lost your job through no fault of your own.
  • You have lost your job after your 90-day waiting period, not before or during.
  • You have completed the 90-day waiting period.
  • You have been unemployed for at least 30 consecutive days.

Important: To receive the full benefit (up to three monthly payments), you must continue to provide proof of unemployment and meet all the policy conditions.

To process your claim, you must provide:

  • State Unemployment Approval Letter
  • Last 3 months of pay stubs
  • Employment Termination Letter

A waiting period is a duration of time you must wait before your insurance cover comes into effect. During this time, your insurance coverage is not yet active.

  • You cannot make a claim for any loss of employment that happened before you enrolled or during the 90-day waiting period.
  • If you have been enrolled for 90 days and then lose your job, you may submit a claim if you meet all the policy terms and conditions.
